Stella Electric showcases Tailormade’s ability to transform an abstract sensory experience - scent - into a visually immersive narrative, seamlessly blending technical precision with creative storytelling.
THE CHALLENGE
For Stella Electric, Tailormade was tasked with visualizing the product’s long-lasting fragrance in a way that was both engaging and memorable. The core concept revolved around the idea that the air freshener’s scent transforms the environment, bringing small ceramic figurines to life. The challenge was to translate the intangible nature of scent into a captivating and photorealistic visual language, ensuring an emotional and sensory impact on the viewer.

To make the fragrance feel tangible, our team developed a dynamic visual language centered around delicate floating petals, symbolizing the pleasant aroma of Stella Electric diffusing through the air. The spot unfolds in two key sequences:

As the scent spreads, the ceramic figurines - small decorative pandas and their friends - react with delight, expressing surprise at the new fragrance. The petals swirl around them, enhancing the magical effect and reinforcing the fresh, inviting atmosphere. Their joyful reactions create a sense of warmth, turning the ordinary space into an enchanting scene filled with movement and life.

Following the initial moment of wonder, a conversation unfolds between two ceramic panda figurines. The smaller panda, noticing the existing air freshener, questions why a new one is needed. The larger panda responds confidently, highlighting that Stella Electric lasts for 30 days, ensuring long-lasting freshness. This playful dialogue seamlessly integrates the product’s key feature into the narrative, making it both engaging and memorable.
KEY VFX TECHNIQUES
  • Petal Simulation & Motion Design: The petals were digitally crafted and animated to create an organic, weightless movement, reinforcing the idea of an airy, immersive scent spreading throughout the space.
  • Photorealistic Ceramic Figurines: Inspired by real ceramic panda toys, we created highly detailed CG replicas using photogrammetry. These models were then brought to life with subtle, expressive animation, ensuring a balance of realism and charm.
  • Expressive Animation & Emotion: The pandas’ subtle expressions and reactions were carefully animated to feel both believable and endearing, strengthening the emotional connection between the characters and the audience.
  • Light & Atmosphere Enhancements: To emphasize the dreamlike quality of the scene, we applied soft lighting, volumetric effects, and compositing techniques that seamlessly blended live-action with CG elements.
  • Set Extensions & Environmental Details: The surroundings were enriched with carefully placed elements that enhanced the cozy, inviting feel of the space, reinforcing the emotional impact of the scent.
COLLABORATION
Working closely with director Raylin Valles and the Ducktape production team, we ensured that every VFX element served the storytelling. The petals were designed to interact naturally with objects in the scene, guiding the viewer’s eye while enhancing the feeling of warmth and freshness. The seamless integration of CG ceramics into the real environment required meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that lighting, textures, and reflections were indistinguishable from practical elements. Throughout the process, we remained committed to maintaining the authenticity of ceramic textures and ensuring a natural blend between CG and live-action components.

The final spot brings the essence of Stella Electric to life in a way that is both visually poetic and technically precise. The combination of CG petals, animated ceramics, and carefully curated lighting creates a mesmerizing sensory experience, making the fragrance feel almost tangible. By balancing realism with charm, Tailormade successfully turned an invisible sensation into an engaging, emotionally resonant story. This project exemplifies Tailormade’s expertise in transforming abstract concepts into striking visual narratives through VFX.
