We enjoyed collaborating with Gwantsi and film director Ole Peters to craft a bold, cinematic campaign introducing Huawei’s new luxury flagship, the Maextro S800.
Designed to rival the best-in-class competitors, the Maextro called for an atmosphere of quiet confidence and grand elegance. Our work helped bring this vision to life through dramatic cloudscapes, stylized light, and a striking CG crystal world.
It was an exciting creative journey, balancing bold artistic vision with technical precision, allowing Tailormade to help shape Huawei’s luxury world through seamless visual storytelling and high-end VFX integration.

To support the high-profile launch of Huawei’s Maextro S800 luxury flagship, Tailormade was invited to handle a few of the campaign’s ambitious CG and VFX sequences. With a tight timeline, evolving creative, and multiple vendors in play, our task was to deliver captivating visuals that matched the elegance and cinematic ambition of the brand film.
THE CHALLENGE
The hero film was a 4-minute cinematic centerpiece packed with VFX-heavy shots. To meet the demanding timeline, production split the work across multiple vendors. Tailormade was brought in to lead some of the campaign’s most stylized sequences, with a clear focus on delivering high-end, high-impact visuals on schedule.
OUR ROLE
Tailormade was tasked with creating:
The surreal Crystal intersection, where the actress crosses through a stylized, refractive world.
Light streaks trailing through a dynamic tunnel scene.
The Cloudscape, where the car drives in the sky in an ethereal morning atmosphere.
Each sequence required a unique creative and technical approach. We worked in parallel streams, syncing daily with the production and director to keep things on track and visually unified.
COLLABORATION
Working with Gwantsi meant navigating time zones, pipeline differences, and extremely fast communication rhythms. At times, it felt like the team in China never slept. Despite these challenges, we kept a collaborative tone and focused on helping the director and the client deliver the film they envisioned.
Some of our completed shots were ultimately cut due to runtime limits. There was simply too much great material to fit within the commercial length.
CREATIVE APPROACH
The cloud sequence evolved significantly throughout the process. What began as a visual homage to another famous campaign quickly took on its own identity. With shifting client preferences late in production, we implemented a custom system to assemble and render cloud layers quickly and flexibly. This helped us deliver final shots efficiently while adapting to changing creative direction.
We aimed to maintain a sense of scale, weight, and motion throughout the scenes, contributing to the campaign’s overall tone of serenity and majesty.
THE RESULT
The Huawei Maextro S800 hero film was released with strong presale momentum, establishing the vehicle as a serious competitor in the luxury market. Our work became part of a premium cinematic launch that fused story and visual craft with a sense of innovation.
From concept to delivery, we were proud to contribute to something this bold and elevated.
