Huawei Mate X7 "Mate to Survive” is a commercial film that presents the device through controlled, grounded visuals where realism carries the message. Directed by Sinan Sevinç and produced by Stink Shanghai, the film relies on amazing photography and subtle visual effects to support the narrative without drawing attention to the process.
CHALLENGE
The project combined complex technical shots with a tight schedule and a locked scope.

Several scenes required seamless continuity between interior and exterior spaces, detailed phone visuals, and clean window integrations. In these shots, the windows did not exist on the physical set, either from the interior or exterior. Extending and enhancing the environment was essential to support the storytelling and preserve spatial logic.

Creative requests continued to evolve late in the process, increasing the need for careful prioritization and disciplined execution.
OUR ROLE
The work focused on precise phone replacement in a few shots, extra windows with accurate environmental integration, and maintaining interior and exterior continuity across scenes. Cleanup and compositing were handled with restraint, aiming for invisibility as usual. Tailormade also supported the grading process with clean masks and technical preparation, ensuring flexibility without compromising the original intent.
CREATIVE APPROACH
Tailormade approached the project as a creative partner rather than a service layer.

Each decision was guided by a simple principle: use CG only where live-action solutions could not deliver the required result. The original photography was treated as the foundation, not something to be replaced.

This approach protected visual integrity while maintaining clear production boundaries.
RESULT
The film was delivered on time and at the expected quality level, despite the constraints.

Visual effects remain unobtrusive, serving the story rather than calling attention to themselves. The process reinforced trust between Tailormade, the director, and the production team, resulting in a film that feels effortless on screen.
